Every year I make the winter migration back north for a period of time, for some guiding in Japan. Unlike most winter migrations this one follows the snow.
Based in Niseko for a few months of guiding and coaching, my short powder-filled winter here is a hard thing not to do. Writing and web work during this time often takes a bit of a back seat, with one’s own personal blog being the first to suffer. So here’s a quick image-focused post to keep things ticking along.
The following photos were all taken on location, by my own fair hand while guiding for Powder Detours in Hokkaido, Japan.
- Pointing out the spots
- Deep days in Niseko
- Hiking out back at Sapporo Teine
- Looking through icy trees
- Cornice slashing with ocean backdrops
- Enjoying the view!
