The 2017 Northern Hemi winter was my tenth year visiting Japan. With the preceding seven or eight years holding longer stints for me, I was content to shorten this year’s trip to just six weeks; more work for 360nz back home in Wanaka, a tad more summer (when it finally showed up), and plenty of time riding dirt instead of snow.
360 New Zealand Ltd. — our small but effective digital media business — has recently partnered with MyPakageNZ, who are the New Zealand distributor for the best mens underwear the World has ever seen. And I’m not embellishing in the slightest! One of our first undertakings in the partnership was to test out the product[…]
For the past eight months or so, myself and 360 New Zealand business partner Richie Johnston have been working on evolving our virtual tour technologies to include an aerial perspective. This evolution went better than we could have imagined.
The year was 2007. The first ever iPhone was announced. The 7th book in the Harry Potter series sold 11million copies in its first 24hrs on the shelves. Shaun White was still the man to beat in both snowboard halfpipe and slopestyle. AND… it was my first taste of the incredulously deep and oh-so-light Japanese pow pow! Little did I know this would be the start of long, affectionate relationship with the land of the rising sun.
Following on from representing Snowboard Instruction New Zealand at the 2015 Interski event in Ushuaia, Argentina, I was fortunate enough to squeeze in a 10 day snowboarding road trip in Chile. Over at 360 New Zealand Ltd. we’ve been working hard to combine our aerial imagery services with our 360 degree virtual tours. And voila… Your browser does not support iframes. Watch this space for a whole lot more to come on this exciting new product!
I love shooting time lapse! There’s something about the process of it that feels super creative. This project was a completely self-funded passion project. Read more about it at our 360nz site or just watch it here…
It’s been a few years since I’ve had shots published in print – ahhh, the dreaded world of web has been taking over. During a snowboarding trip in Japan last year, riding with two of my favourite cohorts Richie Johnston and Abby Peterson, I snapped a couple of rather nice deep pow images. A few[…]
The past 12 months have been FULL-ON! From Japan to NZ and back to Japan again, the melting pot of work was as varied as always, if not more so. My year included re-working our virtual tour systems for 360queenstown-wanaka, the short stint of guiding and coaching with Niseko Academy, Examining during the NZ winter[…]
This past winter, myself (representing 360) and a number of selected members of the SBINZ Examining Staff were commissioned to create a new demonstration video series for Snowboard Instruction New Zealand. Filmed across the majority of the winter season, this project was a pretty substantial task, resulting in 4 videos between 8 and 12 mins[…]
